About

Blake Engelman

Welcome, I'm glad you're here. I'd like to acknowledge that honoring your curiosity about therapy takes immense courage. In this adventure of life, we all at times need a guide to help us through the complexities of the wilderness. This is what therapy is for. The work is often difficult and deep, but it's worth it. It's in this deep work of engaging your story where healing begins. It's an honor for me to serve as a guide as you walk through and explore the difficult paths. Together we'll work to identify your challenges and seek to understand them. Taking a look beneath the surface will help us to alleviate the issues and distress, and allow us to change what fuels them.

I imagine you're also curious about me. My story began in Oklahoma where I grew up, and attended college. I graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, before I spent several years working in a corporate office. During this time I learned about my relational wiring. Spending my days in a cubicle reinforced my desire to be with people and their stories. So, I returned to school at Dallas Theological Seminary to obtain my Master's degree in counseling, graduating in 2011. Since that time I've worked in various clinical settings on my way to private practice. It's in this setting that I feel most alive as I have the privilege of sitting with others, sifting through the details and themes of their stories.

Outside the office I'm blessed to be able to spend time with family and friends, and enjoy walks with my dog, Estes. I love living in northern Colorado, and often wonder why I waited until 2017 to move here. I'm excited to be practicing in my community of Loveland, CO.
